Uttarakhand Health Dept. on alert as Dengue cases surge

After a protracted period of rainfall, Dehradun has seen an increase in dengue cases. 115 new dengue cases have been reported in the last three days. As many as 28 new cases were identified on Thursday in Haridwar, 11 in Dehradun, and three in the Pauri Garhwal area. 

 

The health department stated that the Rishikesh area has so far reported the majority of dengue cases.

 

Dr. Pankaj Singh, a senior health official at the directorate of medical health and family welfare in Uttarakhand, stated that no patient has been hospitalized in the state to date, patients exhibited moderate symptoms and are receiving medication after being examined at the OPD. To avoid the spread of the vector-borne disease, SOPs were distributed to civic organizations and other departments in June. By the end of August, concrete efforts had already been made to stop the spread of the illness.
